Preparing for PVP
As we gear up for PVP to be enabled this weekend, we would like to give you some information about it and what's changed. Based on the final results of the questionnaire, and after a long discussion with the staff team we are going with backfire off, but with a catch - every time you attack a player you will lose some health & yes you can die from this damage, the amount of damage at this time is luck based, but we may tie it to gym stats in the future. We appreciate this is a controversial decision but we let the players decide, and need to stick with that. The damage taken will range from 10-33%. Onto the second question of the questionnaire, crew layers was an overwhelming win but it had some interesting comments tie to it too, we've seen other games do the layers thing and honestly - I don't like it, I don't think anyone should be immune, so instead we have reinstated the crew protection, we are still tweaking the final values on this.
Changes
- Help articles should explain what is lost in PVP & mitigations
We hope the help articles are clear enough - our aim is that death should feel like a name change (optional), a few ranks lost - a bit of an annoyance really. A shooter will gain experience for shooting, the higher the target the better, along with a chance of stealing cash & items.
- Stored xp on death increased
We've increased the stored XP on death, but it may not reflect properly in the character screen without a version update.
- Bodyguards & Abilities
It may have been easy to miss or forget, but bodyguards exist - they have some powerful abilities and we hope with the right game play in place, they are impactful, we look forward to seeing how they are used but check out the empire page, tab bodyguards for more information
- Added clarity on return damage amounts
