How it works
The Grand Theft Auto page: Success chance, Go, Max and the mastery ring of Steal a Beater, and the next locked job12345
1Open GTA. Pick a job. The Success figure is your chance on that job.
2Tap Go. The button shows the focus cost. Each attempt is one roll.
3Use − and + to run several attempts. Max uses all your focus, up to 100 attempts. A run stops if you are jailed.
4The ring on the job card counts successes towards mastery. Failures do not count.
5When you master a job, the next job below it unlocks.

Cars go to the Garage tab. If the garage is full, a stolen car is sold at once for 50% of its value.

Each job has its own pool of cars. Harder jobs have more valuable cars.
What is my success chance?

The same on every job: 15% to start.

  • +5% on a job once you have mastered it.
  • Crime success gear, drugs and the Legacy GTA bonus add to it.
  • It is never above 50% or below 5%.
When can I be jailed?

Jail chance comes from your wanted level.

  • You can only be jailed on a failure.
  • With no wanted stars you cannot be jailed.
  • Every attempt adds 2 wanted points, success or failure.
  • At the top wanted level the chance is 14.4%. Wanted drops over time and resets when you are jailed.
  • A jail sentence is 68–90 seconds before Speed reductions.
Can I get items and respect?
  • Item drops: a job drops items only if it has an item chance above 0%. A job with 0% never drops from its item pool.
  • Respect: every attempt, success or not, has a 7% chance of +1 respect.
Tips
  • Failures give 50% of the XP, so a failed run still ranks you up.
  • Check the Garage tab before a long run. A full garage sells new cars at 50% of their value.
  • Damaged cars are worth more repaired. See Garage.
