How is a hand scored?

Add the cards and keep the last digit. A total of 15 scores 5.

  • Ace is 1. Cards 2 to 9 count their number. 10, J, Q and K count 0.
  • Player and Banker each get two cards.
  • If either has 8 or 9 (a natural), no more cards are drawn.
  • The higher score wins. Equal scores are a Tie.
When is a third card drawn?

The rules are fixed. You do not choose.

  • Player draws on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7.
  • If Player stood, Banker draws on 0 to 5.
  • If Player drew, Banker with 0, 1 or 2 always draws.
  • Banker on 3 draws unless Player's third card was 8.
  • Banker on 4 draws if it was 2 to 7. On 5, if it was 4 to 7. On 6, if it was 6 or 7.
  • Banker stands on 7.
Where do the edges come from?

The chances are worked out over every possible deal. Each card is drawn from a full deck, independent of earlier cards.

  • Player wins 44.61%, Banker wins 45.84%, Tie 9.54%.
  • Player: 44.61% - 45.84% = -1.23% per
    .
  • Banker: 45.84% x 0.95 - 44.61% = -1.06% per
    .
  • Tie: 9.54% x 8 - 90.46% = -14.12% per
    .
Tips
  • Banker is the lowest edge, but the commission is taken from the win.
  • Commission is rounded down. On a bet under $20 it is $0.
  • Every deal uses a full deck, so counting cards does nothing.
