How it works
12345
123451Open Pickpocketing. The Marks lists everyone on the street. All players see the same marks.
2Stars under each mark show difficulty: 1 easy, 2 medium, 3 hard.
3The bar and clock show how long the mark stays. Easy marks stay 80–120 seconds, medium 35–45, hard 20–30.
4Tap Attempt. The button shows the nerve cost.
5The row shows Success! or Failed!. Each mark can be attempted once. A mark you miss shows Walked.
New marks appear about every 30 seconds. If the list is empty, wait for the next ones.

When can I be jailed?
Jail chance comes from your wanted level and the mark's difficulty.
- You can only be jailed on a failure.
- With no wanted stars, you can't be jailed at all.
- Every attempt raises your wanted level, success or failure.
- At the highest wanted level, a failure jails you 24% of the time on an easy mark. Medium is 48% and hard is 84%.
- The chance is lower at lower wanted levels.
- A jail sentence lasts 45–90 seconds. Speed (gym stat) reduces it.
- Wanted level drops over time and resets when you are jailed.
How do marks appear and expire?
Marks come from one list that every player shares.
- A new set of marks is added about every 30 seconds. The street holds 5–8 marks.
- You can attempt each mark once. Another player attempting it does not remove it from your list.
- A mark disappears when its clock runs out. You cannot attempt it after that.
- Pickpocketing does not depend on your location.
How do I get better at it?
- Skill. Every attempt gives skill XP. Each skill level adds +1% bonus to cash and XP, and +0.5% success chance. Max skill level 100.
- Gear and drugs. Crime success bonuses add to your success chance. Item find gear and the Legacy drop bonus add to your item chance.
- Boosts. Pickpocketing has no item of its own. Nerve boost items let you make more attempts.
Tips
- Failures still give 25% of the XP.
- Items need free inventory space. With a full inventory, no items drop.
- Skill level adds 0.5% success per level, five times the Break Into Cars rate. At skill 100 a hard mark's base of 35–45% becomes 85–95%.
- Hard marks leave in 20–30 seconds. Check your nerve before you open the page.
